Rhythm.
Everything that's emanated from the big bang is a reverberation - an echo of that first original whole note, divided again and again into the life sustaining pulse within each of us - within every living thing. I think of the masters of the Renaissance as the kings of rhythm. To draw from da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo, and others, is to enter the stream of the pulse of a fundamental essence.
The egg - the elliptical sphere, is the embodiment of continuance and renewal, and is, for me, the ideal form upon which to engage in a dialogue with the works which represent the epitome of an age of discovery and renewal.
